Dedicate a shooting star this Christmas
to someone you’ll never forget

A unique, handcrafted ‘shooting star’ tribute to remember someone loved and missed is at the heart of an emotional campaign from Acorns Children’s Hospice this December.

'Celebrate Your Star' invites people to honour lost loved ones by dedicating a beautiful star keepsake, while helping to support vital care for seriously ill children and their families.

Two free remembrance events are also taking place for anyone to attend in Birmingham and Walsall, offering a chance to celebrate those who have died, with festive choir performances, readings and a tree decorated with every star dedicated throughout the campaign.

Ben Gilchrist, In Memory Manager at Acorns Children’s Hospice, said: “Christmas can be an emotional time when someone you love is no longer here. Celebrate Your Star is about creating a meaningful way to remember them.

“Every star carries a story, a tribute to a life never forgotten, and together they create a constellation of love and remembrance.

“By choosing to Celebrate Your Star with Acorns, you’re not only honouring someone special to you - you’re also helping us be there for children and families who need us over the festive season and beyond.”

After making a donation a beautiful shooting star keepsake will be yours to keep, and another star will be hung on the trees at the remembrance events with any message you choose.

The remembrance events are taking place on Saturday, 6th December from 3pm at Bournville Quaker Meeting House, and also on Sunday, 7th December from 3pm at Stonnall Village Hall.

The campaign is kindly being sponsored by award-winning law firm Irwin Mitchell.

Ben added: “Your dedication, your message and your star will help shine a light for families this Christmas and into the New Year. It’s a simple act of remembrance that can bring comfort to you and hope to those who rely on our care.”
